About Woodruff

Woodruff was created by two friends Colm Maguire & Simon Williams with a shared idea to create a restaurant that stands out from the crowd.

Our restaurant is named after woodruff, a wild herb that grows nearby on the forest floor.  It’s an unusual herb in that it has very little flavour or smell when picked fresh but when dried it releases amazing vanilla & marzipan flavours.  It’s green colour with delicate white flowers gave us a palate for the restaurant interior.

We forage regularly & wild foods feature prominently on our weekly changing menus.  When produce is abundant we use preservation techniques to build our larder for later in the year.

We place a huge emphasis on sourcing the best produce we can find, buying directly from farms whenever possible.

We hope you enjoy our restaurant as much as we do.

Our Wines

Our extensive wine list is focused on benchmark producers & low intervention wines mainly from the old world.  The majority of our wines are biodynamic, organic or practising organic (awaiting certification).  We choose wines that taste of where they are from & that we like to drink.
